Installing bf'42

Hey guys, I need your help. Bf'42 is now installed on my 2nd basic pc (win xp) but I would like to install it on my 1st pc. Specs are win 7, i7-3770 @3.40GHz, 8Gb, GeForce GTX 970. Don't know if that can make troubles on such old game? Monitor is an 21" widescreen.

My question now, how can I install it best to make it run on win 7 and widescreen, without any problems and leagueproof :p (game itself, punkbuster, packs, maps, etc)

I mean the sides, it's annoying me that way that I can see the landscape at the side of my screen while aiming..
And the text (red circle) is sometimes hard to read.

Okay i didnt realize that nobody is checking forum anymore. Anyway i managed to get it installed, with new files and instructions its ironically even easier to install than 10 years ago with all the patches... Yesterday i was playing online again, it was fun but it will be even more fun when i get in the flow again, right now just driving a car while looking left and right seems quite challenging

Yeah great Veki and Watchy, nice to hear from you. Would be nice to bump into each other on public someday.

Unfortunately i have some sound issues when playing, i hear all the sounds but sometimes (maybe with lots of action) i cant hear almost anything, its especially annoying when there is enemy behind me shooting at me and i dont hear a thing. Now i was thinking my laptop is too slow but can it really be, game is 20 years old And i bought it 2 years ago. If somebody has any ideas what to check, try please let me know. Btw video is not lagging when i have this problem with sound.

Hard to say. Maybe Windows mutes your speakers when it detects communicatios activity.

Do other sounds play normally when that happens in BF?

I will Veki, yesterday i installed it and just went in to check if its working.

I might solved problem yesterday by putting all sounds settings to max now, its should be obvious first thing to try but not to me haha.
